WebCare Plan Glossary of Terms

WordPress CMS Core Upgrades – Wordpress core software updates occur semi-regularly every 2-3 months. Keeping your website up-to-date* keeps your site secure and running smoothly. *Note: Updates may break your site, which is why you need to backup before you update, in case the site needs to be rolled back.
Plugin & Theme Updates – plugins and themes add features and are, along with your content, what make your website uniquely yours. These need to be updated regularly too, esp. after a core WordPress update.
Bi-monthly, Monthly & Weekly Site Backups – backups of your website taken at regular intervals and stored offsite so we can restore websites affected by security breaches or post-update failure.
Off-site storage of Backup – on KindleVision's AmazonS3 server.
Database Optimisation – periodic performance tests on your site’s database.
Uptime Monitoring – Our monitor sees all and we get to the bottom of it fast, alerting us if your site’s hosting server goes down. Sites can go down temporarily due to maintenance or minor server issues, but they also the first sign of a hack.
Performance Optimisation – performance tests on your site to improve page load speeds, develop and monitor your sites automated email trails and other crucial points of user experience/delivery to ensure your site is running as smoothly as possible.
Security Monitoring – leading security system scans of your website and/or monitoring for any suspicious activity.
Email/Phone/Skype Support – should something go wrong with your site you can email, call or Skype us (depending on your level of care) for prompt technical support.
'WebCare Hours' - Graphic Design, Web Development and content edits, Email Marketing campaigns, Social Media management, and/or WordPress training – Whatever you need to keep your site content current and relevant. You can request new graphics, new web content such as slides, copy edits, email campaign design and deployment, WordPress advice, whatever will ensure you get the best value from your ongoing WebCare plan subscription.
If you don't use all your WebCare Hours each month, they rollover to the next so you can save them for a larger job. We like to see you get value for money!
WebCare adhoc hourly rates – If the tasks you request exceed your plan's allocated 'WebCare Hours', and there are none from the previous month to rollover, you will be billed for additional hours at our regular hourly rate (see your WebCare Dashboard for more info). If your account is consistently exceeded each month, we'll contact you to discuss an optional upgrade better suited to your business needs.
